Helga remains one of my favorite characters of all time...I could write a dissertation on all the reasons she's so interesting. Poor twisted, warped little girl with no love at home latches onto the first person who shows her kindness - Arnold - but is so terrified of being rejected that she constantly torments him, thus protecting her outlet for love while simultaneously sabotaging her desperate quest for acceptance and affection. She's so emotional yet so cynical, so empathetic yet so callous, so poetic yet such a damn bully...ugh, I just love her contradictions.
