Long-overdue fanart of the most recent Artemis Fowl book, The Time Paradox.

For those of you who haven't read the book, Artemis is forced to go back in time and square off with his younger (far more evil) self after he learns that the only cure for his dying mother is the brain fluid of an extinct lemur species. Oh yeah, and he killed the last one.

On one level, the blood on Artemis's hands represents his inner conflict and his inevitable confrontation with his own past actions. On another level, it represents the near destruction of his relationship with Holly, who he deceives and betrays in order to carry out his objective.
